VT Artist Spotlight: Karen Day-Vath

Karen Day-Vath was born in Manhattan, and lived in Vermont for seventeen years. Although she is no longer a resident, her paintings are prominent in VT and have been featured at a fundraiser by Vermont Public Radio. Some of her work can still be seen in the Burlington area.

For me, what sets Karen apart is her versatility.

When you look at her portfolio, she has Monet-esque florals alongside contemporary colorful paintings. You get a feel for the diversity above, but she also has another secret weapon you don’t see often on artist websites.

She creates work on her iPhone. Below is a sample of an iPhone painting, prints which are available for purchase. You can see her whole collection of digital work on here website here.

Karens work is really neat. Thank you for sharing. I am curious about the work she does on her iPhone, do you know if it is an app she uses? I am currently taking a painting class at Castleton and love it. Painting is a great way to explore life and emotion.
